It will come as no great surprise to you that we have had to cancel the 7Oaks Triathlon due to take place on 19th April 2020. The BTF cancelled all BTF sanctioned events of which the 7Oaks Triathlon is one, at least up until 30th April 2020.

This was due to be the 47th race since 1985 our club has run, and we are all just as disappointed as you will be that we are unable to do so. We have considered postponement but given the uncertainty regarding the duration of the pandemic and the likelihood of a crowded race calendar were events able to start again before the end of summer, we felt that this was not appropriate or practical.

We'd like to introduce you to our friends at ellenor...

Ellenor Hospice

Ellenor offers a different approach to care for children facing life limiting illnesses, providing vital care in the comfort of their own home with Mum and Dad by their side. ellenor were the UK’s first children’s full hospice at home service, and are still one of only a very few acute services providing oncology and end of life care to seriously ill babies, children and young adults in the home. They support children by providing chemotherapy in their own homes, which can reduce the need for lengthy hospital visits, enabling the child to remain around their families at a difficult time. ellenor offer a seamless service of care for children and young people, age 0-25; working closely with a variety of care providers to provide chemotherapy, palliative care, end of life care. But it doesn’t stop there, ellenor also cares for the whole family and recognises every member of the family needs support. ellenor cares 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies on the generous support from the community for funding.

“At a difficult time ellenor made it so very much better. Everyone was so kind, respectful and friendly - what a team, all of you so wonderful. Our family were struck by the generous amount of time all the professional people gave us all. ellenor gave our family a sense of control and dignity, you got everything right, and for that we are forever grateful.” ellenor Patient Family Member
